Control and approve a variation
Raise, price, evidence, review and issue a change without losing its decision history.
Raise the change
- Capture the instructionRecord what changed, who instructed it and the date or source reference.
- Build the valuationAdd priced addition and omission lines with enough detail for another reviewer.
- Attach evidenceLink the email, minute, drawing or signed instruction that supports the change.
- Request the right decisionOnly an authorised client-side role should approve or reject.
- Issue deliberatelyConfirm the approved value, then issue so the agreed movement reaches projected outturn.
Role boundaries
- A quantity surveyor or contractor-side role may raise and price change where authorised.
- A client or project manager role may approve where the appointment permits.
- No user should approve their own work merely because they can see it.
Audit the decision
Use the activity trail to confirm the actor, time, state movement and evidence reference. If any part is wrong, correct it through the controlled workflow rather than editing an exported copy.
